Draymond Green Rallies Warriors From Down 18 To Win Game 3

During the two games of the Western Conference Finals, the Portland Trail Blazers were competitive. With the next two games they had pretty big chance to even up the series and make it more interesting in the final games. But that didn’t happen.

The Blazers needed a big response in Game 3 at home. They delivered one in the first half, but couldn’t sustain the effort and were overwhelmed in the second half, as the Golden State Warriors secured a 110-99 win to go up 3-0 in the series. The biggest reason the change has been so seamless is Draymond Green.

The trio of Stephen Curry, who led the Warriors with 36 points, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green achieved big victory. With 20 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists, Draymond Green provided triumph for the Warriors. He destroyed the Blazers so thoroughly that Game 4 would be an easy match. Green was Golden State’s true point guard for most of the night. His passing, rebounding and defending brought them there.

“It’s like he’s got eight eyeballs,” Steph Curry said, according to ESPN’s Nick Friedell. “He sees everything.”

The Warriors will have a chance to clinch their spot in the NBA Finals on Monday with a win in Game 4.

The Game 3 victory for the Warriors sparked a lot of reaction on the social media. Here are some of them.

Although the first half was though, Green’s impressive performance on the floor did the right thing. The Blazers were a long-shot to beat the Warriors from the start, but they may have lost the series when they played every card they had and came up short regardless. The Warriors fired back with one of their patented third-quarter bursts and recaptured the lead before the frame was even over.

The Warriors held on for dear life as the Blazers pushed their lead close to 20. It was similar to Game 2 in that regard, and so many other playoff comebacks the Warriors have made in the past five years.
