Patriots’ Demaryius Thomas Thankful To Be Alive After Car Crash

Demaryius Thomas survived a terrible car accident earlier this year, and he almost died in the crash. He flipped his SUV in Denver in February, and it was really terrible.

“I could have been gone,” he said.

According to police reports, Thomas drove 70 MPH in a 30 at 12:20 AM on Feb. 16. The NFL star lost control of his vehicle and crashed it into a curb. Witnesses confirm that Thomas’ SUV flipped several times in the air. The pics of the scene confirm it was a horrible accident.

Thomas says it was a traumatic experience for him, adding that he is thankful for the second opportunity. He will play football again, and he is safe.

“I think one of my main things after my accident is just, period is just, having another opportunity. I could have been gone, but I still get another opportunity.

“I wake up every morning and thank the lord above. And, just thankful for just not even just being able to do what I do — being able to talk, walk, eat, all those things that we forget about on a daily basis. It was a tough time and it’s still, you know, still going through stuff. I’m blessed. I got another opportunity. I got friends, family that love me. That’s all I ask for.”

In March, he pleaded guilty, and promised to be more careful in near future, saying he will never put anyone in danger again.

“Many people reached out after my accident and I want to thank everyone who has been supportive of my recovery. It was important for me to accept responsibility for my careless driving. I personally promise I will never again put anyone at risk with that type of driving going forward.”

Thomas signed a deal with the New England Patriots a few weeks after the car accident, and he will sure use well the second chance he was given. The Patriot helped give kids free haircuts and braids during his “Summer Break” event. May this be a lesson for everyone who takes the road. You have to be more careful.
