Lil Nas X Responds To Tom Brady’s Offer For Patriots 2019 Season Opener

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is all-in when it comes to organizing the 2019 season opener, and he came with a nice offer for Lil Nas X. We all know that Brady liked Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” and he offered the rapper a big deal.

The party will take place on first Sunday in September, and the New England Patriots are expected to raise their sixth Super Bowl banner prior to the 2019 season opener. It will be a great event for the Patriots nation, and Gillette Stadium will be on fire. Brady came up with a great idea, and he sort of invited Lil Nas X. The rapper was already in town to perform at the pregame concert leading up to Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Brady made this offer because he really likes the song. But, Billboard didn’t really fancy it, and took it down.

“Billboard offers category-specific charts simply as a tool for people in the music business to better gauge the success of songs relative to others in a given format. We are often times faced with difficult categorization choices,” Billboard’s official statement read.

“Determining which chart a song lives on is an ongoing process that depends on a number of factors, most notably the song’s musical composition, but also how the song is marketed and promoted, the musical history of the artist, airplay the song receives and how the song is platformed on streaming services. Billboard welcomes the excitement created by genre-blending tracks such as Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” and will continue to monitor how it is marketed and how fans respond. Our initial decision to remove “Old Town Road” from the Hot Country Songs chart could be revisited as these factors evolve.”

Cyrus likes the piece, and made a really good statement about it. “It was so obvious to me after hearing the song just one time,” Cyrus wrote. “I was thinking, what’s not country about it? What’s the rudimentary element of a country and western song? Then I thought, it’s honest, humble, and has an infectious hook, and a banjo. What the hell more do ya need?”
