New Update Emerges On Tom Brady’s Contract Situation With Patriots

What will happen if Tom Brady becomes free agent next offseason? We believe that the New England Patriots won’t let him go away that easily. But, did they forget that Brady has just one season remaining on his contract?
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Monday on “Inside Training Camp Live” that a new contract isn’t yet “on the horizon” with the Patriots opening training camp Thursday.

Tom Brady, as of now, is set to go into a contract year for the first time in his career. My understanding is no new deal is on the horizon at this point,” Pelissero said. “It would be a unique type of a contract because nobody has played at this level and won like Brady has as he comes up on his 42nd birthday. But remember, the Patriots have a track record of getting deals done, including with Brady, in August and September. So, stay tuned before we start figuring out where Brady could land in free agency in 2020.”
Brady doesn’t really like to talk about his contract.
“I don’t think about it too much. I think those things work themselves out. That’s none of your business,” Brady joked. “I’ve never really talked about my contract or anything like that so, I don’t really want to start doing that now.”

Is there any room for panic? Pelissero pointed out that the side have always reached an agreement before. Patriots owner Robert Kraft told everyone that he would be “quite surprised” if Brady didn’t remain the Patriots’ quarterback for the foreseeable future.
“Well, think about it,” Kraft said. “The last three years we’ve been privileged to go to the Super Bowl with a quarterback in place. I would be quite surprised if he didn’t continue for quite a while as our quarterback.
“He and having the head coach that we have, and having Tom, there’s a unique symmetry there and chemistry and it carries over to the whole organization. I think we’re very lucky.”

Well, they better work on that contract. Imagine seeing Brady wear different colors… Not in this world. Hurry up with that contract, Pats!
