Who Is Better: LeBron James and Anthony Davis or Paul George and Kawhi Leonard?

LeBron James and Anthony Davis will give their best to take the Los Angeles Lakers to the NBA Finals. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George will do the same thing with the Los Angeles Clippers. Who is better?

LeBron and Davis are unstoppable, and they were considered the most powerful duo for the upcoming season. However, everything changed when Leonard joined the Clippers, and George was acquired through a blockbuster trade.

Both teams will give us offensive fireworks this season.

Davis, James, Leonard and George finished in the top 10 in points per game in 2018-19 season. George finished second to James Harden, and Davis had the lowest number of these four (25.9).

Leonard and George are pretty similar. They have shot better than 37 percent from three, 40 percent from mid-range and 84 percent from the free-throw line in their professional careers. They aren’t as good as James’ playmaking moves, and they don’t have the size and rim threat like Davis. However, both George and Leonard are versatile offensive wings that most teams look for. They are good three-point shooters, too.

The biggest virtue of the Lakers duo is LeBron’s passing game. King James had more assists per game last season (8.3) than Leonard and George combined. Davis had a career-high 3.9 dimes in 2018-19.

“Coming into the season, I knew that teams were going to focus on me a lot and try to double-team and get the ball out of my hands, so I just try to make the right plays,” Davis told Bleacher Report in January. “Late in the game, of course, the ball’s probably going to come to me, and teams are going to try and get it out of my hands.”

Davis is the only rim protector than these four. He led the league in blocked shots three times, and he is also a three-time member of the All-Defensive teams. The Pelicans couldn’t use this benefit because of all the injuries and his trade request. In 2017-18, Davis held opponents to 10.7 percent below their regular shooting rates from within six feet of the basket.

Leonard was a two-time Defensive Player of the Year. George was second in DPOY voting in 2018-19.

Some say the Clippers will be much better this season, but they seem to ignore LeBron’s dominance.
