Watch: Patriots Top Draft Pick N’Keal Harry is Dropping a Ton of Passes in Training Camp

N’Keal Harry has a lot to learn and some passes to catch while in training camp if he wants to make it to the games in his rookie season under Bill Belichick. The transition from college to the NFL is not easy and can often come as a reality check. We don’t say that’s the case with Harry, but he’s had a tough time reeling in passes from Tom Brady and the other Patriots QBs early in training camp.

Harry’s performance hasn’t gone unnoticed by Patriots faithful who have expressed concerns with the lack of improvement from their first-round pick.

Harry’s hands continue to let him down, and it’s an area he must progress in if he’s to be the eventual top wideout the Patriots foresaw when they drafted him 32nd overall.

N’Keal Harry had some issues in the previous team as well.

The wide receiver annoyed his coaches at Arizona State because he refused to stop diving for the ball in practice.

“I go, ‘N’Keal, don’t be diving for a ball on Thursday. We don’t even have pads on,'” former ASU head coach Todd Graham said in an interview.

While the non-stop efforts irked his college coaches, such behavior will likely be tolerated just fine by Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, two men known for their virtually-unmatched competitiveness. Harry could use some showing off at this point in training camp and Brady is famous for having a “mamba mentality” on the practice field, so any rookie receiver willing to sacrifice himself day in and day out is a quarterback’s dream.
