Patriots Move To 4-0, But It’s The Defense That Deserve The Credit For Domination

The New England Patriots are still intact. They had a road game against the Buffalo Bills, and won. Again. This is their fourth consecutive win, and we can already see them holding the Lombardi Trophy in February. But, it’s interesting to note that the defense was pretty strong on the field. According to multiple reports, all the praise goes to defensive players.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had 18 completions on 39 attempts for 150 yards and one interception. Bills quarterback Josh Allen completed 13 passes in 28 attempts for 153 yards and three interceptions. Allen left the game in the fourth quarter due to a head injury.

“New England was able to secure the win on Sunday thanks large in part to their defense and special teams unit,” Tyler Sullivan wrote. “With Tom Brady and the offense stalled for most of the afternoon, it was up to the defense to keep Buffalo out of the end zone. They did so flawlessly in the first half, only allowing three points.

“Josh Allen was able to come out of the locker room with a touchdown drive in the third quarter, but overall New England’s defense was stout. They created four turnovers as a team and were particularly strong on third down only allowing Buffalo to convert on two of their 13 attempts. As for the special teams unit, that blocked punt turned touchdown was a key moment in the game for the Patriots to establish a lead. With the Bills defensive front giving New England’s offense fits, that special teams touchdown scored by Matthew Slater proved to be the difference.”

Allen’s head injury was the last drop for the Bills. He had a terrible game and made a few huge mistakes. Did this injury stop him from pulling out a touchdown? Of course not.

This doesn’t change the fact that the Bills had a really strong defense and running game. Pundits have noticed that Matt Barkley led the Bills to the Patriots 2-yard line upon joining the team.

The Patriots won another game, and that’s the only thing that matters at the moment.
