LeBron James Reacts To Luka Doncic Making Historic 42-Point Triple-Double

Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic is the second-youngest player in NBA history to score 40 or more point while pulling a triple-double. Lakers superstar LeBron James took some time to praise the player, and offered his endorsement.

The 20-year-old superstar finished the game with 42 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds in the team’s 117-110 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Monday. He became the second player in NBA history to post this line before hitting 21. LeBron is the first to make this great record.

Doncic has high opinion of the king. He called LeBron his “idol” and it looks like he is ready to follow his footsteps.

Last season, the young guard averaged 21.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game en route. He was named Rookie of the Year. Things got even better for Doncic this season. He averages 29.5 points, 10.7 rebounds and 9.3 assists.

King James averages 25.0 points, 11.2 assists and 7.6 rebounds per game. We can easily say that he and Doncic are two of the early front-runners for MVP.

Luka Doncic to win the MVP award?

The Lakers are having an excellent season, and they are actually the best team in the NBA. Doncic has the Mavericks off to an 8-5 start, good for fifth in the Western Conference. The Mavericks haven’t made the playoffs since 2015-16 and won 33 or less games the previous three seasons. Doncic helped the team a lot, and their points will increase this season.

LeBron is a four-time MVP, but it wasn’t until his sixth season that he won his first MVP award. In his second season as a Cavalier, LeBron averaged 27.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game.

Doncic is expected to become the face of the NBA in the next years. Giannis Antetokounmpo is also here. LeBron will probably pass the torch to Doncic. However, the Lakers and Mavericks are the best teams in the West, the king and Doncic may play each other in the postseason. That would be an interesting encounter.
