Analyst Says LeBron James is the Best Player in L.A.

Basketball players have to play 82 games in the regular NBA season, and they still have a long way to go. The Los Angeles Lakers are playing the best basketball at the moment, and experts agree that both Los Angeles teams have a good chance to dominate the Western Conference. The Lakers have a 21-3 record at this point, and that’s the best in the NBA. The Los Angeles Clippers trail LeBron James’ team and own the second spot in the Western Conference. They have a 17-7 record. It’s too early to make a prediction, but most analysts agree that the Lakers will win this title.

Which team runs the big city? Who is the king of Los Angeles? Is it LeBron James? Or maybe it’s Kawhi Leonard?

Skip Bayless, Shannon Sharpe and sports analyst Chris Broussard discussed the topic in an episode of Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED.

According to Broussard, LeBron was able to re-establish himself as the best player in Los Angeles. He didn’t mention the GOAT debate, because it’s still open. Broussard said that LeBron and Anthony Davis are the best tandem because their versatility is pretty high. Davis did an incredible job with Jokic. Kawhi and Paul George can’t do that.

“LeBron James has re-established himself as not the best player in the world, that’s up for debate, he is the best player in that building (Staples Center Los Angeles),” Broussard said. “They are the best tandem, LeBron and AD because they are more versatile. We saw what AD did to Jokic, who on the Clippers, and certainly not Kawhi or Paul George can do that.”

The Lakers and the Clippers have been struggling ever since Kawhi Leonard’s team moved to the city. Things got really hot this season, and both teams signed bit players this past summer. The Clippers got Leonard and Paul George, and the Lakers got Davis.

LeBron is the best player in the league, and he has four NBA MVP Awards and three NBA Finals MVP Awards. Leonard is the reigning NBA Finals MVP and won two titles. This season, LeBron is averaging 25.9 points, 6.8 boards and 10.8 assists per game and Leonard is averaging 25.1 points, 7.9 boards and 5.2 assists per game.

But, Broussard says that the Lakers are much better. Bayless says that LeBron will get tired by the playoffs, and Leonard will be ready for the big game.

“This is classic tortoise-hare argument, because the tortoise is going to catch the hare,” Bayless said. “The tortoise is Kawhi because he is load managing for April, May and June and LeBron is going all out trying to steal an MVP in his 17th year because he now leads the NBA at shot attempts in the fourth quarter.”

Broussard responded with great arguments. If Leonard chooses to rest this much during the regular season, he better get ready for the postseason and win the title.
