LeBron James Reveals Details On The Moment Teammates Finding Out About Kobe Bryant’s Death

LeBron James couldn’t get over Kobe Bryant’s death. The Lakers superstar couldn’t handle the tragic news. He thought it was fake news or something. For LeBron, Kobe was “a brother.” He couldn’t believe it was real.

“I remember the first thing Bron said to me was, ‘Man, y’all stop playin — like, stop playing with me,’” Anthony Davis said in an interview for ESPN. “And I’m trying to get on the internet. And Dwight (Howard), like, you can see him start crying. He was like, ‘It’s true.’”

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel and Jared Dudley traveled on the same plane.

Kobe Bryant’s death shocked everyone

LeBron passed Kobe on the NBA’s all-time scoring leaderboard a day before the tragic accident. He gathered his teammates together at one point after the news broke. It felt as if he was leading them in prayer.

“It was just off the top off my head, just off the cuff,” LeBron said. “I think it was needed for us to come together and just give thanks to the man above. Even though at times we question him and question why he do some of the things that he do, know that he’s never made a mistake. And just hope that he has his hands on top of Vanessa (Bryant) and the kids at that time, and hope that he continues to watch over all of us. So, I don’t know, it wasn’t something I thought about. It was something that just kind of came to me, and I said my piece.”

LeBron exited the flight in tears. It was a sad day for every basketball fan in the world. Everyone respected him and he was an icon. Young players looked up to him and his greatness.

Numerous athletes shared tributes for the Black Mamba, including Tom Brady and Michael Jordan.

Brady’s story inspired a lot of people. He was successful on and off the court. Although he didn’t attend too many home games at the Staples Center this season, he was always there. He will always be there. The Bryant family organized a memorial to honor Kobe and Gianna.
