LeBron Ties Kobe Bryant For 3rd In Lakers’ Triple-Doubles List

Lakers superstar LeBron James hit yet another milestone, and this time he tied late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant for third on the Lakers’ list for most triple-doubles.

In the expected 122-114 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, LeBron recorded his 21st triple-double for the Lakers. He finished the game with 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists.

This isn’t the first milestone LeBron hit this season. A day before Kobe died, LeBron passed him for third place in the all-time scoring list. King James talked about the Mamba crafting the blueprint for high school stars who plan to jump to the big leagues.

Kobe sent a message of support for his dear friend. He congratulated LeBron on his achievement. They also talked on the phone right after LeBron hit the milestone. LeBron was among the last people Kobe talked to before the tragic helicopter crash.

LeBron signed a four-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2018. He arrived in town two years after Kobe called it career. The Black Mamba spent 20 years with the team.

LeBron earned the trust of Kobe Bryant

Kobe and every other member of the Lakers family welcomed LeBron. They trusted him throughout the process. LeBron was the one to carry on the winning tradition of the franchise. The Lakers have seen a lot of basketball legends wear gold and purple. Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O’Neal and many others played huge roles with the team. The Lakers have won 16 titles, and this is the second-most in league history right next to the Boston Celtics who have won 17 championships.

LeBron is 35 and he is in his 17th season in the NBA, and we haven’t noticed any signs of aging. LeBron keeps showing the world that he is the best player in the NBA. Stacking these triple-doubles will keep him on top of the NBA for a few great seasons. Former Heat superstar Dwyane Wade believes that LeBron will play another four seasons. First, let’s see what happens by the end of this season. Hopefully, he will give the Lakers another title. It’s an important season for LA.
