Dwight Howard Claims Anthony Davis Has Given LeBron New Life

Dwight Howard has an interesting take on the connection between Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

If you ask Howard, he will say that Davis has helped the team’s production. He is convinced that the addition of the former Pelicans player provided an excellent boost for LeBron.

Howard talked about the way Davis’ elite performance affected the 17-year veteran.

“Well, AD (Davis) has had an effect on LeBron,” Howard said. “I think the way that he’s playing, now LeBron’s saying, ‘I got to step my level of play up because AD, my running partner, every night he’s there.’ So I think he’s made LeBron, he’s given LeBron new life.”

He made a good point. Davis has a key role on the Lakers roster. You could see that during Thursday’s game. The superstar had a brilliant performance in the Lakers’ 120-107 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

In the 39 minutes of action Davis had, he had 37 points, 13 rebounds, four steals, a pair of assists, and two blocks.

LeBron’s contribution to the final result was brilliant. He recorded a double-double with 22 points and 14 assists. King James also had seven rebounds and blocked a pair of shots.

Dwight Howard is right

Long before Davis arrived in LA, LeBron had pushed for the front office to trade for him. This performance and Davis’ incredible game didn’t surprise LeBron. He knew that Davis is capable of pulling out those numbers. That’s why he wanted to get him to play in LA.

It’s everything I expected and more,” he said. “Obviously, that’s why I wanted him here. When you get a generational talent like that and you got an opportunity to get him, you just try to do whatever you can to get him.”

The Lakers are on top of the Western Conference with a 47-13 record. Their next game is actually a potential NBA Finals game. LeBron and his teammates will play against Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks have the best record in the league. 52-9 seems really scary, right? But, LeBron and his team will run over the Bucks. LeBron and Davis make the best NBA duo this season.
