Klay Thompson’s Father Explains Why LeBron James Deserves To Be MVP Over Giannis

Klay Thompson’s father, Mychal Thompson shared his thoughts on the NBA MVP debate. According to him, LeBron James deserves to be named the NBA MPV for the season and not Giannis. His theory is pretty convincing.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ radio analyst witnessed the greatness of the team. LA sat on top of the Western Conference with the help of LeBron and Anthony Davis.

But, 2020 is full of tragedies and bad luck. First, the world had to cope with the idea of losing Kobe Bryant forever. Two months after the tragedy, the NBA suspended the season because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Klay Thompson’s father makes a point

When asked about the NBA MVP award, Thompson voted for LeBron.

“Giannis is deserving of it too, obviously. If he got it, there would not be any controversy at all. He was just as deserving. But LeBron was playing in a tougher conference.”

This season, the Lakers superstar is averaging 25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 10.6 assists per game. Giannis recorded 29.6 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per contest.

Thompson talked about a few other topics. He and everyone else is waiting for the health officials to give the NBA the okay to start the season. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and the owners are waiting for the “okay.” Thompson is fine with playing in empty arenas and playing five games. Jumping to the playoffs? Why not. He will also accept “no games” and straight jump into the playoffs. The only thing he wants is to go get back to work. We felt that.

LeBron has had an impressive season. He helped the Lakers jump to the top. The team hasn’t had this much success since Kobe Bryant’s time. LeBron promised to win a title with the team. He couldn’t do that last year. He was in pain. The nasty groin injury stopped him from winning the title.

This year, everything went better. LeBron is fine and he is surrounded by a lot of talented players. Let’s hope that the NBA season resumes. We will be waiting for that to happen. We need to see players on the floor again. NBA fans need action.
