Patriots Acquiring Former MVP Quarterback ‘Wouldn’t Surprise’ AFC Coach

The New England Patriots will play without Tom Brady in September. The Carolina Panthers released Cam Newton. See the connection here? Will the Patriots go after a MVP quarterback?

Newton is a former MVP and he may be of great help for the New England Patriots. The organization lost its star quarterback in free agency. TB12 signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Although the Patriots are confident about their next season, replacing Brady would be impossible.

Some Patriots fans are already excited about the idea of seeing Newton in Foxboro. This AFC assistant coach agrees with these fans.

Mike Freeman from Bleacher Report asked the coach about the Patriots’ interest in Newton. His response didn’t come as a surprise to us all.

“I wouldn’t be stunned if this happened,” the coach responded.

The Patriots need to replace Brady with a talented MVP quarterback

New England would only replace TB12 with a talented quarterback. Newton is more than brilliant, and his skills can attract the Patriots’ attention. He is a former NFL MVP who has helped the Carolina Panthers make the Super Bowl. Newton has been a consistent player for nine seasons, recording 29,041 yards and 182 touchdowns. Moreover, he found a new drive after being cut by Carolina. Yes, Newton is the right choice for the Patriots.

The Patriots are a nice fit for Newton’s resume, too. Head coach Bill Belichick is the best coach Newton will ever have. Well, Belichick is the best head coach in the entire league. New England relies on a good receiving corps led by Julian Edelman. However, they need to add more depth to the receiving unit. The Patriots will need to check out a few options before they make the Super Bowl again.

Newton’s camp will have to convince Belichick that he has everything he needs to win games. The Panthers cut him because of the numerous health concerns. Belichick would never gamble on an injured player. If Newton is able to prove his health, the Patriots will be more than happy to offer him a deal. Let’s see how will the Patriots handle this offseason. Belichick needs to act fast. Is he interested in the NFL MVP quarterback?
