Here’s How Much Money LeBron James Would Lose If Season Doesn’t Resume

The NBA plans to resume the regular season later this summer and players will be able to hit arenas on July 30 at the Walt Disney World Resort. But, Kyrie Irving, Dwight Howard, Patrick Beverley, and many others don’t like to go back. They believe the eventual resumption may affect the efforts to protest against police brutality and racial injustice. But, players will lose a lot of money if this happens. How much money will LeBron James lose if the season doesn’t resume?

A lot of money.

How much money will LeBron James lose?

“LeBron is making $34.7 million and he’ll lose like $13 million (if the NBA doesn’t resume), so like 35 percent of his pay,” ESPN’s Bobby Marks told Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News. “Whereas if he’s going back to Orlando, he’s probably looking at a loss of between $5.5 to $6 million.”

On the first day of free agency, LeBron signed a four-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. This deal will bring him $153.5 million. LeBron made $35,654,150 in 2018-19 from his deal. He was supposed to make $37,436,858 this season. However, the season was suspended and players stayed at home for three years.

LeBron and other NBA players will lose a lot of money because they didn’t play many regular-season games due to the coronavirus pandemic. The regular-season resumption would be a great deal for LeBron because he has a good chance to win a title.

Will LeBron be happy to hear that his financial loss won’t hit $13 million. A lot of players have voiced their concerns about hitting the floor again. It looks like the “bubble” games will happen as scheduled.

LeBron and his teammates have the ultimate record in the West. The Lakers won a lot of games thanks to the king and Anthony Davis. They are favorites to win the title this summer. LeBron had a great game and this was one of the best seasons he has ever had in his professional career. How will officials handle this season? Will they enjoy every bit of it? Will they hit the field again? LeBron can’t wait for this to happen.
