Julian Edelman Gives Update On Offer Made To DeSean Jackson

New England Patriots wideout Julian Edelman was ready to have a lot of “uncomfortable conversations” with fellow wideout DeSean Jackson. Well, it looks like they will do that.

Jackson faced serious backlash for the comments he made regarding the Jewish community. The Patriots wideout took his time to respond to Jackson’s anti-Semitic post. A lot of NFL players supported him. Instead of blasting the Philadelphia Eagles wideout, Edelman decided to open a dialogue. He even made an offer. Edelman invited Jackson to a trip to Washington D.C., asking him to visit the Holocaust Museum and the National museum of African American History and Culture.

“What we need to do is, we need to listen, we need to learn, we need to act. We need to have these uncomfortable conversations if we’re going to have real change. So to that end, DeSean, let’s do a deal. How about we go to DC and I take you to the Holocaust Museum and then you take me to the museum of African American History and Culture. Afterwards, we’ll grab some burgers and we have those uncomfortable conversations. This world needs a little more love, compassion and empathy. Take care.”

Julian Edelman and DeSean Jackson talked

It looks like DeSean agreed to have those confersation. He accepted Edelman’s offer, and yes, he even apologized. It looks like he is willing to learn all the things he knows nothing about.

“DeSean and I spoke for awhile last night,” the 2018 NFL MVP wrote on Twitter. “We’re making plans to use our experiences to educate one another and grow together. Stay tuned.”

This makes us think of all the problems NFL players have. They all have a story to share, and hopefully, the government will find a way to protect them. They need to protect themselves first.

The country turned into a big mess following the death of George Floyd. The African-American died at the hands of the Minneapolis Police, and his death triggered an avalanche of reactions. People protested in the streets, seeking justice. His family is looking for answers and they encourage everyone to stay calm and prevent further damage.
