Los Angeles Lakers Announce Major Update Concerning Markieff Morris

NBA fans were worried about the Los Angeles Lakers and their plans for Markieff Morris. Is he inside the Orlando bubble? The Lakers didn’t say a thing and now we know he had an “Excused absence.” Where does this put Markieff at the moment? In quarantine.

Kyle Goon of the OC Register, reported that Markieff has cleared quarantine. He is expected to join the Lakers soon.

Marcus was also MIA and many believe they were dealing with a family matter. The Lakers are more than excited about Markieff’s return because he is a key contributor for the team.  Markieff played a few games with his team and his presence was noticed.

It looks like Markieff will join the Lakers for practice very soon. However, he may not be on the floor for the first scrimmage against the Dallas Mavericks. Markieff hasn’t had a chance to practice with his teammates in Orlando. He wasn’t with the Lakers for a very long time before the season was suspended. The Lakers play a scrimmage on Saturday. Will head coach Frank Vogel let him play?

The Lakers need Markieff Morris on the floor

Markieff has a big role in playoff runs and he will have enough time to fit in the system. The Lakers have the best record in the West. Vogel is happy with Markieff’s productivity and he wants him on the floor. Moreover, he has a plan for the player.

“Once he arrives, I believe the protocol is he’s got to clear two negative tests and quarantine for 36 to 48 hours,” Vogel said. “So it will be a couple days after he arrives before we’re able to see him and get him out on the court. Obviously, we’re going to be smart about building him up at the right pace. We don’t want to put him in a position to be injured. He has been out and not competing with the team for a while, sow we’ll just take it day by day and be intelligent with it.”

The Lakers will finish the season without Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley. Losing another big name would be a big problem for the team.
