Danny Green Refuses to Accept His NBA Championship Ring in the Bubble For a Special Reason

Los Angeles Lakers veteran Danny Green is a regular player in NBA playoffs and he will hit the big scene once again this year. Many would agree that Green is one of the most successful players in the playoffs in the past ten years. He won a championship with the San Antonio Spurs and won another title with the Toronto Raptors. The talented player was supposed to have his NBA championship ring when the Lakers played Toronto in Canada. However, this didn’t happen and the coronavirus pandemic pushed the Lakers-Raptors game to the bubble.

The Raptors won the game and the Lakers’ offense struggled on the floor. Green has yet to receive his ring and the league didn’t organize a ceremony for him in Orlando. The veteran talked about this on his Inside The Green Room podcast. The Raptors wanted to know if Green is interested in having a small ceremony in Orlando. Green and Lakers coach Phil Handy thought it would be better if they receive their rings in front of Toronto crowds. Let’s not forget that Handy was part of the Raptors family last year.

“I’d rather do it in front of the fans in the city where I played and spent a great year… You can hold onto it, I’m in no rush.”

Danny Green is motivated to get another NBA championship ring

Green is the best shooting guard for every contender. He is an amazing defender and analysts praise him for being a reliable corner shooter. Green has used his talent and skills to win multiple championships. He is about to win his ring with the Lakers. Some fans can’t ignore the fact that Green’s performance has been underwhelming. The veteran was averaging 8.3 points per game with the Lakers. Head coach Frank Vogel may use him as an anchor for th eprimary Lakers lineup for end-of-game situations.

Green wasn’t able to hit open shots inside the Orlando bubble. LeBron James has been giving him some excellent looks, but Green missed some of the most important shots. His game against the Raptors wasn’t good. But, take your time and remember all the times Green elevated his game in the playoffs.
