Jacob Blake Father Sends Message to LeBron James After Missing his Phone Call
NBA players almost left the Orlando bubble following the tragedy that struck the Blake family. Players boycotted the games amidst the social unrest in the country. Police officer Rusten Sheskey shot Blake seven times in his back. Jacob Blake goes through a nightmare and his father delivered a message for LeBron James after missing his call.
The Milwaukee Bucks were the first team to boycott Game 5 of the first-round series. The NBA rescheduled their game against the Orlando Magic on Thursday. Players called Blake’s father to offer words of encouragement and solidarity. LeBron reached out to Jacob Blake Sr. too.
Jacob Blake father shares message to LeBron
Blake Sr. missed the call from LeBron. But he didn’t miss the chance to deliver a message for the king, assuring him that he didn’t plan to miss the call. Blake’s father was on a flight when LeBron called him.
“Please let LeBron know I did not mean to miss his phone call, I wasn’t putting him on hold,” Blake Sr. said. “They made me turn my phone off on the plane.”
LeBron and Blake Sr. will probably get a chance to talk in the period that follows. The four-time nBA MVP was one of the most vocal figures during the discussions between players and execs. He wanted to talk to Blake’s dad and we will probably get an update on their conversation.
The NBA will do whatever it takes to deliver a message. Making a mistake is not an option now. millions of Americans are following every move the NBA makes. Protesters won’t accept a wrong move at the moment.
Players are trying to help those in need and seek justice for the deaths of unarmed African-Americans. LeBron and other basketball players will seek justice for the unfortunate and their families. He keeps asking questions about George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. The situation doesn’t look good and we haven’t moved from a blind spot. What will happen next? The NBA made a move and authorities have to pay more attention to people’s words. Innocent people are dying.
