Patriots’ Bill Belichick Makes History For Most Consecutive Seasons as NFL Coach

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick joined the NFL in 1975 and he has the most consecutive seasons as a coach. Belichick accepted a low-wage assistant position on Ted Marchibroda’s Baltimore Colts staff. It was a good chance for the brilliant coach, and he decided to stay in the league. In other words, Belichick stayed in the NFL longer than anyone else ever has.

The New England Patriots released the 2020 media guide on Tuesday. The organization noted that coach Belichick passed Dick LeBeau for the most consecutive seasons coaching in the league.

For coach B, the upcoming season will be his 46th straight year as a football  coach. LeBeau was a coach for 45 NFL seasons. Tom Moore is the only other coach who has coached for 40 or more consecutive seasons in the league history.

Belichick has been a head coach for 26 years. He had five years in Cleveland and 21 years with the Patriots. The Patriots head coach has made a distinct mark on the NFL while providing great stability to the organization.

LeBeau was a head coach for three seasons. Cincinnati promoted him early in the 2000 season. during his time as a head coach, LeBeau led the Bengals to a 12-33 record. Moore was never a head coach in the league.

Bill Belichick has the most consecutive seasons in the NFL

Belichick will add more success to his portfolio in the next few years. He will enter a challenging season with the team. Tom Brady is not part of the team, and Belichick will have to work with his other quarterbacks. He has Cam Newton and Jarrett Stidham on the roster. Brian Hoyer is on the roster, too. The Patriots head coach will have to make a few moves this offseason.

Belichick is a legendary coach and he will help the Patriots stay on top of the league. He has already worked under pressure and yes, Belichick is used to this type of games.

2020 will be a big season for the head coach and he is ready to make a move forward.
