Patriots’ Cam Newton’s Hilarious Nickname For Julian Edelman Revealed

Cam Newton has a bit of a nickname for Julian Edelman already it seems. The New England Patriots have been working hard to get back on top after a very disappointing season last year. The 2019 season wasn’t good for anyone. And after it ended with legendary quarterback Tom Brady leaving for Tamp Brady, it seemed like a lost cause.

But they have bounced back in a big way. With the signing of former NFL MVP Cam Newton. Most believe that he will eventually end up being the starter for the Patriots this year. But this is not confirmed.

Belichick talked about Newton before.

“He’s an extremely hard-working player,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. “First-guy in, last-one out type of guy. He’s really studied hard and has spent a lot of extra time trying to learn our offense, our communication, our calls, nomenclature and so forth. I’ve been very impressed with that. He’s done a good job of picking it up. He’s a very skilled athlete. We’re just working through it day by day. We have a long way to go.

“We’ve got a very competitive competition at a very competitive position at the quarterback spot. It will be interesting to see how everybody does.”

But outside of all of the competition, it looks like Newton and Julian Edelman have a bit of a relationship. So much so that Newton already has a nickname for Edelman.

This is a pretty good nickname. Hopefully the two will have a big season together with lots of TDs.

Edelman talked about what Newton brought to the field.

“I have played a lot of football in this league too, and he’s played a lot of football,” Edelman explained. “It’s more of a team — ‘What do you see here? I think here is this, that.’ It’s pretty cool, I guess.”

“He just has a good energy about him,” said Edelman. “He’s very energetic and has a lot of energy to him. He makes it fun. He’s always in a pretty good mood from the time that he’s been here. I can’t speak on any other place or this that, but from what I have seen and what I have learned, he seems like a guy who loves football, has an energy about him and enjoys it. He enjoys football.”
