Report: Patriots Rookie Suffers Injury That May Cost Him His Spot

The New England Patriots are having more injury trouble with a rookie now being reported to have been hurt. The Patriots are doing everything they can to get back on track after a disappointing 2019 season. This means that they are signing anyone that they think will help them get back to the playoffs in 2020.

One of those signings was rookie kicker Justin Rohrwasser. He has not been seen much at all during training camp so far. Apparently, there is a very disappointing reason for this.

Rohrwasser’s non showing at training camp has not gone unnoticed. Many people were wondering where he is or what was wrong. In his limited action, he wasn’t very impressive as he made only three of five attempts in 11-on-11 drills.

The Patriots did use a 5th round pick on him in the draft. He comes from Marshall University. He came to the Patriots with a more fanfare than usual. Some disagreed with the pick. There was also some controversy around a tattoo he had. However, he has had it removed.

However, Rohrwasser apparently has an injury. From reports, it sounds like he could be out for quite awhile. This is significant and many think that he could have gotten a few snaps this season.

It is very unfortunate that a rookie is already getting hit by the injury bug. Hopefully the Patriots can get back on track, even with a few players having injuries.

A lot of eyes are on the quarterback position. As we know, Tom Brady left for Tamp Bay this off season. They have since signed Cam Newton, who many think will be the starter.

Coach Bill Belichick had a few things to say about this.

“Yeah, it might,” Belichick said, via quotes from the team. “Look, I always say I’ll do what I think is best for the team, what gives us the best chance to win. Whatever that is, I would certainly consider that. If it’s run an unbalanced line or double-unbalanced line or 23 personnel or whatever it is. If it helps us win, then I would consider anything.”
