Former Patriots Wide Receiver Recalls Incredible Bill Belichick Story

A former New England Patriots wide receiver has come out with a very funny Bill Belichick story. The Patriots are going into week 3 trying to get back on the winning side of things. Currently, they are one a 1 game skid after losing to the Seattle Seahawks last weekend. But this week, against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Patriots should be much better.

Cam Newton is at the helm this season and it has been very interesting to see him work. Belichick has talked about him in the past and had only good things to say about him. He is especially impressed with his work ethic. It would be great to see him to come out with a huge game.

“He’s come in and do everything we’ve asked him to do,” Belichick said about Newton recently. “He works had. He’s obviously a very talented player and looking forward to continue to work with him. We’ll just take it day-by-day, but he’s given us everything he’s had and we’ve tried to put the team in the best position we can competitively. We’ll see how that all comes out. I’m sure a lot of things will change as the season goes along. We are where we are for right now and just keep trying to get better every day.”

Now, a new story about Belichick has come out from former New England wide receiver Donte Stallworth. On a recent podcast, Stallworth told an amazing story that we think you should hear.

Stallworth played for the Patriots back in 2007 and then again in 2012. Sadly, it did not go very well. He injured his ankle in the first game and did not play again.

But now he has come out on a podcast with Michael Silver admitting that Belichick kept him on the Patriots roster even though he was hurt.

Belichick wanted him to continue receiving checks. He also wanted to have him play one more year for retirement/pension purposes.

“I signed with the Patriots late in the 2012 season after (Julian Edelman) broke his foot. My first game back I suffered a partial ligament tear in my ankle and expected the traditional medical settlement. But Belichick had other plans in mind … a side of BB most never hear,” he told Silver.

Pretty good stuff. What do you think about this story?
