Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Talks on Underappreciated Act of LeBron James

LeBron James and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar have a pretty good relationship it seems. The Los Angeles Lakers are in the midst of the NBA Playoffs currently and they are starting to have their eyes set on the Finals. This would be the first time they made it to the NBA Finals in a long time. Nothing would have happened without LeBron James, however.

LeBron is one of the best to ever do it. But it is not only on the court that he has been making a difference. There has been a lot going on in the year 2020. The COVID 19 situation is causing the season to be late and then restarted within a bubble.

Now there is a lot of talk about the social injustice that has been going on in the United States. The BLM movement is in full swing. LeBron talked about what this means to him recently.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Talks on Underappreciated Act of LeBron James

“First of all, I want to continue to shed light on justice for Breonna Taylor and to her family and everything that’s going on with that situation,” James said to reporters as an opening statement. “…We want the cops arrested who committed that crime.”

Now, Kareem has come out saying that LeBron is doing a great job keeping his head on straight while also focusing on everything that is happening.

“People are worrying about the wrong thing; what LeBron James is doing off the court far outweighs what he is doing on the court,” Kareem Abdul-Jabbar said.

“LeBron is standing on all of our shoulders. He’s standing on Jackie Robinson’s shoulders. He’s standing on Jesse Owens’ shoulders. He has a conscience and a heart, and he is setting the example for generations to come.”

Wow, those are some pretty powerful words. LeBron has long help the weight of the NBA on his shoulders. It is hard to find someone else that could do the same. And he has done it all with class. LeBron and the Lakers should make a deep run in the playoffs and it will be all the more remarkable.

What do you think about what he had to say?
