LeBron James Heaps Praise on Rajon Rondo and His Impact in Game 2

Los Angeles Lakers veteran Rajon Rondo was awesome in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Houston Rockets. The veteran returned to the Lakers lineup on Friday and LeBron James noticed his improved performance.

The four-time NBA MVP talked about Rondo’s impact on the team following the 117-109 win over Houston.

“I think he was just extremely aggressive, not only offensively but defensively, taking the challenge on James [Harden], taking the challenge on whoever he was guarding,” James said of Rondo. “He was just trying to lead — that’s what Do (Rondo) is. He’s a leader, and for us to have him back in the postseason is a key for our team. He comes in; pushes the tempo; he gets guys involved; and that doesn’t always show up in the stat sheet with Do – the intangibles that he does offensively and defensively. His nose is always around the ball, and he just makes plays for us and tonight was another example of that.”

Rajon Rondo was brilliant in Game 2

Rondo has become a key role player for the Los Angeles Lakers. The former Boston Celtics superstar scored 10 points in Game 2 and also stacked nine assists and five steals. Rondo was of great help for the Lakers in the game and they were able to even the series.

Rondo’s return to the floor gives the Lakers another talented ball-handler and floor general.

Getting out on the fast break was of great importance for the Lakers this season. Rondo and his teammates outscored the Rockets 20-6 on the break. They were able to take advantage of Houston’s missed shots and 17 turnovers.

Rondo is a smart player and the Lakers will need him in the next few weeks. LeBron could really use some help on the floor and Rondo comes as a nice fit. He will take some of the load off LeBron’s back and the Lakers better play smart with his minutes.
