Lakers’ LeBron James Reacts To ‘Stay At Home’ Order In LA

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James approves the Stay At Home order in his city. Authorities had to do something like this to prevent any bigger damage. The coronavirus outbreak froze the entire nation. The NBA decided to suspend the regular season. NBA players stay home with their families now. It’s an unexpected disaster that may easily turn into a nightmare.

Residents in the Los Angeles County have to stay at home. LeBron approves this move. Of course, locals can go shopping for food. LA county officials had to issue the order. All nonessential businesses are shut down. The previous order only targeted restaurants, bars and fitness centers.

Stay At Home keeps people safe

Donna Littlejohn and Bradley Bermont of The Los Angeles Daily News provided an update on the situation.

“While exact details of the order and enforcement mechanisms are still unclear, Tornek confirmed the order would force the closure of all nonessential businesses. If it follows similar moves from counties in the Bay Area and across the state, the only workplaces labeled essential and allowed to stay open would be first responders, grocery stores and certified farmers markets, financial institutions, caregivers, mail services and restaurants serving takeout and delivery orders, among others.”

This action will help locals control the situation. Authorities believe that residents will prevent the further spread of COVID-19. The coronavirus killed thousands of people across the globe. China and Italy lost a lot of people in the past couple of weeks.

The Mayor tried to make it clear. They have to prevent the spread of the virus.

“This is not going to be Italy where they’re arresting people on the street for being outside,” Mayor Tornek said in a phone interview. “But there has to be real rigor to interrupt the expansion of this virus.”

Two Lakers players have the virus. Boston Celtics’ Marcus Smart has the virus, too.

LeBron may lose the chance to win a title with the Lakers. Some analysts claim that this is the end of the season. Hopefully, the situation will improve in the next few weeks. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will provide an update in three weeks.
