Patriots’ Cam Newton Shares Health Update After Win Over Miami Dolphins

New England Patriots starting quarterback Cam Newton has no concerns regarding his health. The veteran quarterback encouraged others to trust him. From what we could see Sunday, Newton is really great. The 2015 NFL MVP helped the team win the season opener against the Miami Dolphins. It was a mind-blowing 21-11 win over the team, and head coach Bill Belichick had nothing but words of praise for his starter.

Following a postgame scuffle with several Miami players, Newton reached toward his left hamstring and limped on his way out of the field. It was a barely notable limp, but CBS cameras were sort of confused.

When media members asked Newton about his health status during a postgame video conference, he said, “I’m great. Everything’s good. Trust.”

Cam Newton has no health concerns

The quarterback was the Patriots’ ultimate ball-carrier in Week 1. Newton was more than impressive in his debut with the team. He rushed 15 times for 75 yards and two touchdowns. The former Carolina Panthers quarterback completed 15 of 19 pass attempts for 155 yards with no turnovers.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick likes Newton’s style. He told reporters that Newton was great in Week 1, but didn’t forget to say that there’s still room for improvement. Belichick says that for pretty much every player on his roster.

New England will release an injury report Wednesday afternoon. Analysts and coaches will be able to see whether Newton finished Sunday’s match with an injury.

Health concerns have been the biggest issue regarding Newton and his game. He missed a lot of time in the past couple of seasons and even had surgery to fix his injuries. The Panthers cut him for this particular reason. Belichick is confident about his signal-caller. The Patriots signed Newton to a one-year deal. He will get a chance to sign a better contract next season. Of course, Newton will have to try extra hard to make that happen. For now, he and his team are focused on the next game. Pats players are traveling to Seattle to meet the Seahawks.
