NFL Insider Reveals What’s Currently Happening With Chiefs, Patriots

The situation in the NFL doesn’t look good at all. The Titans are dealing with an outbreak, and New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton tested positive for COVID-19. New England was preparing for the Week 4 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but the game will take place in a different day. Newton is not the only player to test positive these days. Chiefs practice squad quarterback Jordan Ta’amu’s results returned positive, too. In other words, the game between Kansas City and New England Patriots won’t be played Sunday. An NFL insider shared details of the situation with the Patriots.

According to some reports, the game will be re-scheduled for Tuesday. However, the NFL will have to confirm that there aren’t any other cases.

NFL Insider provides update on the Patriots

Ian Rapoport from NFL Network reported that both facilities are closed. The NFL is doing contact tracing to get the names of the players and coaches who spent a lot of time with Newton and Ta’amu.

Tomorrow’s coronavirus test results will give us a clearer perspective on the situation in New England and Kansas City. Will teams finish this game?

Albert Breer of the Monday Morning Quarterback said the facilities will be off for the weekend. Maybe the Patriots will have their game against Kansas City on Tuesday. That’s the only option teams have regarding the current situation.

“Per sources, both the Chiefs’ and Patriots’ facilities will be closed both today AND tomorrow. More coming in a story that’s posting shortly, but that narrows the window to play the game in Week 4. If they play it, that’s why it’ll almost certainly be Tuesday.”

Kansas City could really use this extra time. Having the game against New England later in the season gives the Chiefs a lot of time to prepare. Playing it on Tuesday would mean that Kansas City would have three games in nine days. That’s pretty challenging for the defending Super Bowl champions.

New England deals with a lot of issues and the Chiefs have to think of a potential solution to the situation in the locker room.
