Adam Gase Shares How Cam Newton Can Make Things Really Scary For NY Jets

The New York Jets will see a few challenges in their game against the New England Patriots. It will be a game full of excitement and competitiveness. The 2015 NFL MVP had a terrible game in the past few weeks, and the Patriots need him to elevate his game. Well, Adam Gase has made a few comments about the awesome Cam Newton, and some fans will agree with him.

Newton was great in the first couple of games with the Patriots. However, his performance saw a terrible drop. Bill Belichick’s starting quarterback hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass since Week 3. Let’s not forget that he also had six interceptions in the last four games.

Adam Gase is confident about Cam Newton

This doesn’t change the fact that the Jets are well aware of Newton’s talent. Newton is pretty scary when he plays his best football. The Jets head coach shared his thoughts on Newton’s ability to shut down Gang Green.

“It’s really been problematic for other teams when he’s run the ball,” Gase said. “They’re doing the zone-read stuff. When he’s pulling it down and scrambling and creating first downs that way, that’s been problematic. He’s hit some good throws in some tight windows. I think it’s just we have to make sure that he doesn’t get in a great rhythm. That’s the last thing you want to have happen with him.

I’ve played him a few times in the past when he was at Carolina. I’ve seen him get really hot, and that’s the last thing you need. If he gets in a great rhythm, that’s when it gets really scary.”

New England plays against the Jets, but they definitely need Newton at his best. Belichick would love to see his team back in the win column. It will be a challenging game as the Patriots are expected to play without four starters. Let’s see how will Belichick handle the upcoming challenge. Will his teammates find a way to shut down Gase’s team?

The Patriots had a pretty long injury report, and NFL analysts are pretty worried. At one point of the week, the Patriots had 17 players on their injury report. Scary, right?
