Cam Newton Has Been Significantly Better Than Tom Brady In One Key Stat

Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is inefficient launching deep in the last four games. He is 0-of-19 with three interceptions on deep passes (20+ air yards) since the Week 8 game. Next Gen Stats compared him to the current Patriots starting quarterback. According to this, Cam Newton did better than Brady in one particular stat.

In the last four games, Newton went 4-of-7 for 145 yards with a touchdown on passes that went 20+ yards.

PFF’s deep passing chard showed a different story. According to them, Brady stands at 1-of-19 for 44 yards with three interceptions. He has 5.3 adjusted completion percentage and 0.0 passer rating. Newton stands at 4-of-6 for 145 yards with a touchdown for 66.7 adjusted completion percentage and 149.3 passer rating on deep throws in the past four games.

The 2015 NFL MVP ranked first in deep passer rating. He is second in deep adjusted completion percentage in Weeks 8-11. Brady ranks 32nd out of 33 quarterbacks in deep adjusted completion percentage. TB12 is last in deep passer rating.

Cam Newton to boost his stat

When it comes to the regular season, Newton goes at 10-of-16 for 314 yards along with a touchdown and interception on deep passes. He ranks second in adjusted completion percentage and 13th in passer rating.

TB12 is 18-of-58 for 627 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions on deep passes in the season. He ranks 29th of 36 quarterbacks in adjusted completion percentage and passer rating.

Let’s not forget that Brady plays with one of the best receiving unit in the NFL. He is empowered with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown. Newton throws balls to Jakobi Meyers, Damiere Byrd, N’Keal Harry and Gunner Olszewski in the last four games.

Brady and his Bucks have a 7-4 record in the season. He went 26-of-48 for 216 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Newton and his Pats lost Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. He went 26-of-40 for 365 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions.
