Magic Johnson Reacts To Lakers Offseason Moves

Magic Johnson may be out of the Los Angeles Lakers front office, but he is definitely focused on the team’s offseason moves. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka has made some big moves this offseason, and he will probably do a few more. LA is determined to defend the title and win back-to-back championship wins. The Hall of Famer was pretty active on the first day of NBA free agency. According to him, the Lakers did an amazing job.

The legend took to his Twitter account to share his thoughts on the “Lakers aggressiveness” at the beginning of free agency. His former team signed Clippers big man Montrezl Harrell and Milwaukee Bucks Wesley Matthews. Johnson also praised the team’s trade deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Lakers traded Danny Green for Dennis Schroder.

Experts agree with Magic Johnson on Lakers’ offseason moves

Many NBA experts would agree with Johnson. Los Angeles addressed most of the roster needs in a brilliant way. Schroder is an amazing playmaker and a knockdown shooter. He can definitely take the ball off King James’ hands. Matthews is also a successful 3-and-D player for the team.

The signing of Harrell came like a surprise. He is the reigning Sixth Man of the Year and the Lakers can use him as a replacement for Dwight Howard. Patrick Beverley couldn’t believe that his teammate left the team to join LeBron James. Howard left the Lakers and signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Los Angeles won’t stop here. The Lakers will probably lose Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley in free agency. Big man Anthony Davis will re-sign with the team. Both parties are working on the details of Davis’ new deal. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka has shown interest in several other players. He will probably make a few more moves ahead of the upcoming season. Los Angeles has a short offseason, and the general manager has to act fast. But, the Lakers look really well now, and LeBron is super excited about his new teammates. Harrell and Schroder are awesome players and they will have key roles on the roster.
