New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has developed a relationship with veteran quarterback Cam Newton in the past few months. Belichick decided to trust the 2015 NFL MVP and gave him the starting quarterback job. Newton accepted the challenge and had a good start with the team. However, something changed following his short battle with COVID-19. Newton wasn’t the same and he made some mistakes on the field. One of the questions he received was related to veteran wideout Julian Edelman. The 2018 Super Bowl MVP has missed some time on the field, and he has yet to clear his COVID-19 protocols. Interview hosts wanted to know more about Edelman’s injury and his return date. What did Newton do?

The quarterback has talked about Edelman before, but he didn’t say a word this time. The Patriots head coach gave him a mandate to not talk about any injuries.

“I have been summoned not to talk about things I can’t control,” Newton told The Greg Hill Show.
