Cam Newton Shares Stern Message As Start Of NFL Free Agency Nears
The New England Patriots had veteran quarterback Cam Newton under center in 2020, and he will soon enter free agency. The 2015 NFL MVP had some struggles in his first year with the Patriots. According to some experts, the team will move on with another signal-caller.
Yes, Newton really struggled over the course of his debut with the Patriots. Will this affect his future in the NFL? Guess what… Newton isn’t really worried about getting another starting job in the NFL.
Cam Newton discusses free agency
The talented veteran took to his Instagram to release a video of himself hitting the gym. He released several similar videos throughout the entire 2020 season. We watched these videos before the start of the regular season, too. This time Newton delivered a message for his doubters. Will they get the word?
“Let me tell you something. When it comes to me, I’m not your conventional human being,” Newton said. “I think different, I act different and I’ve came to grips to say I am different. I don’t need your validation. Never needed your validation. But one thing about me: I’m gonna figure it out, baby, and I’m gonna (expletive) work.”
What’s next on the list? We wouldn’t rule out his return to New England. Newton would love to stay in New England. He likes the Patriots. There was mutual respect between Newton and the organization. Patriots players like him a lot, and Newton was a star in press conferences. Several analysts say Newton is the Patriots’ best chance under center. He can help the team attract other players. He is great, and if packed with the right weapons, Newton can do wonders.
Coach Belichick has to do a lot of thinking heading into free agency. He will go through pretty much every option on the table. Newton on the roster? Why not, he’s a great guy.
Health was not a concern for the veteran. He missed just one game due to a short bout with COVID-19. It was a long week for the Patriots as they lost several players at once.
