LeBron James Had One-Word Reaction to Being Named Time Athlete of The Year

Four-time NBA champion LeBron James was named Time Athlete of the Year, and his reaction is more than amazing. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar took to his Facebook to deliver a simple message.

He was “honored” to receive this amazing recognition.

Time magazine released the Persons of the Year, and LeBron was listed as 2020’s most influential athlete. They have listed LeBron’s social justice efforts inside the Orlando bubble. He got people to vote and someone took notice of this. LeBron hasn’t stopped for a second, and we all know that he is more than an athlete.

It was a long and strange year, and LeBron was able to go through the COVID-19 pandemic and use his voice to support the Black Lives Matter movement. He had something to say about the US elections and people heard him.

LeBron deserves to be recognized as Time Athlete of the Year

Nothing beats the fact that LeBron is the face of the NBA. Players almost boycotted the 2020 NBA season resumption in Orlando. They were far from happy with the current situation in the country. Police officers shot several unarmed people this year, and players had to react. They boycotted Game 5 in the playoffs, and didn’t return to the court for a few days. Well, LeBron and other NBA veterans implored players to finish their games.

“I just wanted to reassure that they were giving us their word and I was going to give them our word that we would continue to play on with the season, as long as we had action going on off the floor at the same time.”

King James has encouraged his peers to register and use their vote to make a change.  The number of NBA voter registrants jumped to 95%. In 2016, only 22 percent used their right to vote.

Guess what… LeBron did this and much more all while going after his fourth ring. Let’s not forget that he also won the NBA Finals MVP award. LeBron was successful both on and off the court, and he has every right to earn this recognition. He deserves every bit of respect and support for his efforts.
