LeBron James Joins Tiger Woods and Lance Armstrong as Sole Athletes in Historic Achievement

Most people in this world would agree that 2020 is one of the worst years they have had in their life. Four-time NBA champion LeBron James is actually having the time of his life and his most recent achievement is the best proof of that. He won his fourth NBA championship in Orlando and also got the NBA Finals MVP award. The Lakers superstar won several awards, and now he was named the Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year.

“I still know what I do on the floor and obviously, I give everything to the game,” LeBron told the Associated Press. “But I can make a greater impact off the floor right now, more than I can on the floor. And I want to continue to inspire people with the way I play the game of basketball. But there’s so many more things that I can do off the floor to help cultivate people, inspire people, bring people together, empower them.”

LeBron James to add another achievement to his resume

King James joins Lance Armstrong and Tiger Woods as the only men to win this award four times.

2020 was a good season, and LeBron was more than proud of his fourth ring. He was averaging 17.6 points, 10.8 rebounds and 8.8 assists in the Lakers postseason. His leadership led the Lakers throughout the season and LeBron used his presence to address several major topics. Systemic racism and social injustice are some of the topics he talked about. LeBron was pretty vocal inside the bubble. He talked about Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel is impressed with LeBron and his greatness.

“He’s the greatest player the basketball universe has ever seen,” he said of LeBron in October. “And if you think you know, you don’t know until you’re around him every day, you’re coaching him, you’re seeing his mind, you’re seeing his adjustments, seeing the way he leads the group. You think you know. You don’t know.”

The four-time MVP led the Lakers to the title and helped the team win games all while mourning over Kobe Bryant’s death. The Los Angeles Lakers won the title in his honor.

LeBron won’t stop here, and he will surely continue doing his job on and off the basketball court.
