Frank Vogel Provides Concerning Injury Update On Anthony Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers have provided an injury update on Anthony Davis, and the situation doesn’t look really good. Team doctors cleared the big man to begin advancing his on-court work after Friday’s reevaluation. Davis hasn’t played for six weeks and he is receiving treatment for his calf strain and tendinosis. A Lakers spokesperson said this advancement also includes “increased volume and intensity in shooting, dribbling, and position-specific drills.”

The Lakers were the No. 1 team in the Western Conference. AD is an eight-time All-Star and the front runner for Defensive Player of the Year in 2020. The big man had to leave the game on Feb. 14 and hasn’t returned to the floor. LA went 7-11 in Davis’ absence and fell to No.4 in the West.

Fans are worried following the injury update on Anthony Davis

Vogel provided an update on Davis, and it looks like the big man will miss more time.

“I mean, the truth is he gets evaluated every day,” the Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said. “You know what I mean? He does work, they treat him, they evaluate him. We’re in the middle of a ramp up. But he’s still a ways away, so nothing concrete from a days [until return] standpoint right now.”

The Lakers entered the Cavs game with a four-game losing streak.

LeBron James suffered a high ankle sprain last weekend and he joined Davis on the sidelines. The situation is far from ideal at this point as Lakers players struggle to win games. They have to win a few games before LeBron returns, otherwise they will be kicked out of the playoff picture.

LeBron accompanies friends during games and offers his support from the sidelines. LA didn’t trade for a player ahead of the deadline and Rob Pelinka will probably make a move on the buyout market. The team has been linked to Andre Drummond. NBA insiders believe the Lakers are front runners to get the center. Bringing a two-time All-Star to the team is a good option at this point of the regular season.
