Kyle Van Noy Confident In Patriots’ Leadership, Even Without Tom Brady

Kyle Van Noy joined the New England Patriots and he is pretty confident about the current leadership in the locker room. Van Noy re-signed with the Patriots after a season with the Miami Dolphins.

Van Noy will be part of a different locker room. Quarterback Tom Brady is gone and New England will have another quarterback under center. Head coach Bill Belichick changed his offense and defense. Brady’s loss is probably the biggest change so far. However, Van Noy isn’t really worried about this.

Kyle Van Noy praised Patriots leadership

In his interview on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Van Noy shared his thoughts on the Patriots’ leadership. According to him, the Patriots aren’t any short of leaders left in the locker room.

“I think it’s gonna be business as usual because you still have a lot of leaders that have been there for a long time,” Van Noy said. “You have Matthew Slater, you have Devin McCourty, Shaq Mason, David Andrews comes back. Have a lot of really good leaders. You have (Dont’a Hightower) coming back, you’ve got myself coming back, people that have been in the building before. I think it’s going to speak volumes. I think Bill (Belichick) realizes that and understands that, and I think having a group of young men that have played together — I’m still young man — I just think he understands that having leadership like he has in the locker room is going to be key going forward, and I think he has that with a lot of players in there.”

Van Noy agreed to a two-year deal with the Patriots and it has a base value of $12 million. He will join a talented group of players. NFL experts praised Belichick’s offseason moves and his shopping spree. The Patriots head coach doesn’t really spend a lot of money in free agency. But, things were different now. The Patriots got all the players they need and covered up pretty much every hole on the roster. Cam Newton re-signed with the team but he may not be the starting quarterback in 2021.
