Lakers Guard Sends Strong Message to Montrezl Harrell
Los Angeles Lakers veteran Dennis Schroder delivered a message for Montrezl Harrell following the altercation during the game against the Toronto Raptors. The NBA didn’t suspend Harrell but he received a $20,000 fine.
Schroder will jump in to help his teammate. I mean, Harrell was protecting his back. Schroder is paying Harrell’s fine.
“Who got fined? Trezz?” Schroder told reporters on Thursday. “Oh, yeah we’re going to take care of that. He had my back, so we’re going to take care of that for sure.”
Schroder earns $6 million more than Harrell this year. He will sure spare some money for his teammate. They are great buddies after all.
OG Anunoby tossed Schroder on the floor and Harrell didn’t waste any time. He rushed like a bull to defend his great teammate. Schroder couldn’t believe that Anunoby played him that bad. He was just trying to pick him up.
“I fouled [Anunoby] but tried to still pick him up. It’s not a dirty play and I didn’t want him to get hurt, and he clearly didn’t get hurt, and I picked him up. And then after that he just shoved me on my back,” Schroder said after the altercation. “With Trezz I would do the same thing for everyone in this locker room. We’re all brothers, family, so after it happened and he got ejected, I went into the locker room during the game and I told him that I appreciate him, and that I would do the same thing for him. So I’m really thankful for that one.”
Lakers teammates have supportive message for Montrezl Harrell
Harrell doesn’t regret doing this for his teammate. The best part? He’d do it again.
Harrell didn’t get a suspension, but Raptors guards Fred Van-Vleet and DeAndre’ Bembry and Lakers’ Talen Horton-Tucker will miss one game for leaving the bench.
“That’s uncalled for, and I’m going to defend my teammates just like I would do any other time, just like the way I would do any other player or if it was to happen over again, man. That’s not the way you do things, man. He literally grabbed his leg and dropped him right on his back,” Harrell said. “It’s wrong, I don’t really think I did anything wrong to be ejected, but it is what it is.”
Harrell wants his money back. It wasn’t a big deal, so he wants his $20,000 back.
