Talen Horton-Tucker Speaks Out on His Controversial Suspension

Talen Horton-Tucker had to deal with a controversial suspension early in his career. Well, the young buddy learned his lesson.

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Brooklyn Nets and THT had a key role in the big win. He finished the night with 14 points and 11 assists. It was his first game since the one-game suspension. Horton-Tucker is one of three players who earned a suspension for leaving their bench in the game against the Toronto Raptors. Lakers veteran Dennis Schroder got into a thing with OG Anunoby and THT rushed to help. The NBA didn’t like it.

THT learned the lesson from the controversial suspension

Schroder fouled the Raptors player but tried to help him so he wouldn’t fall. What did Anunoby do? He grabbed Schroder’s leg and threw him to the ground.

The Lakers player took the suspension as a lesson as reported by Lakers Nation’s Ryan Ward. Horton-Tucker is 20 and he has yet to learn everything about the game and altercations of this kind. This suspension will help him become more disciplined on the floor.

It’s great to see someone this young take the high road in such an unpleasant situation. Of course, he didn’t get too involved in the whole situation, otherwise his suspension would have been terrible. THT missed one game, the one against the Miami Heat, and then delivered a strong game against Brooklyn. Amazing! His numbers did all the talking.

Horton-Tucker came off the bench for most of the regular-season. He has earned himself some nice playing time for the purple and gold. He is averaging .5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. THT is coming off the bench and playing about 19 minutes each game. He is becoming a key contributor for the Lakers.

We can easily say that THT learned the lesson. Next time his teams get into an altercation while he is on the bench, THT should try to hold himself back.
