Warriors GM Responds to Steph Curry to Lakers Rumors

The Los Angeles Lakers could really get another All-Star at the moment. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are out due to injuries and players struggle to win games. Golden State Warriors Steph Curry has yet to sign his contract extension, and some say he will go to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Warriors are mortal. The dynasty crumbled to pieces. In 2019-20, the Warriors were one of the worst teams in the league. They are the ninth seed in the Western Conference this year. The Golden State has to get another superstar otherwise they won’t be title contenders.

Brian Windhorst from ESPN revealed that Lakers superstar LeBron James was recruiting Steph Curry during the All-Star weekend.

Steph Curry to join the Lakers

LeBron and Curry are no longer rivals. Curry has one year left on his contract with the Golden State. If he doesn’t sign his extension, he will definitely add fuel to all the rumors related to his departure.

Warriors general manager Bob Myers talked about the rumors and Curry’s role with the team. He is not really worried about the current situation.

“We’re never going to stop hearing it,” Myers said, per Tim Kawakami of The Athletic. “It doesn’t matter if a guy signs an extension anymore, whether it’s one of our guys or any guy. The drumbeat never stops. … I think rumors like that or any rumor about a great player, they’ll always be there as long as the player’s great.

“But all we can do is make our place of work somewhere people show up and feel like they can compete. I think Steph’s felt like we’ve given him a really good chance in his time and career to compete individually and team-wise. And that’s what we’re going to keep trying to do. … What I would say: I think Steph’s happy. I think he’s in a good place. I think things are going to be fine with him.”
