LeBron James Reacts To Playing First Game After Longest Injury Layoff Of His Career

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James suffered a high-ankle injury on March 20 and he is already back into game action. However, the team lost the first game he played since suffering the injury. Losing against the Sacramento Kings is far from ideal and Lakers players have to step up. LeBron, Anthony Davis, Andre Drummond, and Ben McLemore did their thing on the floor and the rest of the roster had their night off. No, it’s not a joke.

LeBron missed six weeks and 20 games. This was the longest injury-related layoff in his 18-year career. LA dropped to No.5 in the West. Let’s not forget they entered the new season as the top seed in the conference.

The Lakers didn’t win the game against Sacramento. King James finished the night with 16 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

LeBron James recovered from his injury

LeBron talked to reporters about his first game. He really wanted to get back to the floor and play with his teammates.

“It’s been urgency for me to get back ever since I got injured. So that’s just who I am,” the four-time NBA champion told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “You guys could have seen the logging of the minutes and hours per day that I was doing as far as rehab and treatment, it was a lot more than I slept. So over the last six weeks, that’s all I’ve been doing, is having an urgency to get back and play.”

The playoffs are already here and LeBron really hopes that his team will finish the season on a positive note. We all know what that means. This is a warning for the rest of the NBA.

“It’s only nine games left. It’s just been,” LeBron said, “It’s been a hell of a season, obviously. … But we look forward to the challenge. It is what it is. This is the season, and we’ve got to make the most out of it.”

LA plays against the Toronto Raptors and players need to elevate their game. They need to win more games in the upcoming period.
