Lakers Officials Worried LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ Window May be Shorter Than Originally Anticipated

LeBron James and Anthony Davis look really great on the floor together. These two led the Lakers to the championship in inside the NBA bubble in Orlando. Everything looked well until February.

The big man suffered a bad injury mid-February and had to miss a lot of time. He returned to the floor but LeBron suffered an injury and AD had to carry the team on his back. LA lost too many games and fell to No.7 in the West. The team had to take part in the play-in tournament. They had to bead the Golden State Warriors. It was a good game and LA made the playoffs. Both LeBron and AD hit the floor but the big man suffered an injury and had to stay on the sidelines. LA lost to the Phoenix Suns.

So, Rob Pelinka will probably try to bring a third option to give his superstars more weapons. Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal, Chris Paul… They all make sense at this point.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis to part ways?

Here’s another aspect of the game. Several analysts say that LA should get rid of AD. This doesn’t make sense because LeBron likes him and Frank Vogel appreciates his effort.

LeBron and AD suffered bad injuries last season and the team missed the chance to win back-to-back. Lakers official believe that the window with King James and Davis may be smaller than expected.

“The injuries to James and Davis last season were an unwelcome reminder of that much, leading some Lakers officials to worry that this window might be even shorter than they’d originally hoped,” wrote Sam Amick of The Athletic. “As such, they’re in the process of turning over all the proverbial stones in search of the right piece(s) to return to the NBA’s mountaintop. Their time is now, in other words — again.”

LeBron missed 20+ games due to his injury. He played in just 45 games and that’s the least amount of games he has ever played in his career. LeBron was averaging 25.0 points, 7.8 assists, and 7.7 rebounds per game.
