Stephon Gilmore Reportedly Makes Decision On Training Camp

The New England Patriots may lose one of their veterans in the offseason. Stephon Gilmore has yet to sign a deal with the Patriots, and it looks like he has made a decision on Patriots training camp.

Let’s not forget that Gilmore missed organized activities this spring. A lot of fans thought that he’d miss training camp, too. Gilmore has been stealing the spotlight throughout the entire offseason. Fans are really interested about his future.

Gilmore told the Patriots that he wants a new contract. He is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, but his deal is not that good. The veteran cornerback is not in the top ten highest-paid cornerbacks in the NFL. He was really unhappy with this and even shared a few posts to express his frustration.

The veteran has yet to reach an agreement with the Patriots regarding his new contract. However, this didn’t stop him from reporting to training camp.

Stephon Gilmore joins veterans in training camp

Field Yates from ESPN reported that the veteran “was present when team veterans reported to training camp this week.”

Yates also wrote that Gilmore will start camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list. He suffered a season ending injury in 2020 and missed a lot of time on the field.

According to recent reports, negotiations started heating up. The Patriots will probably finish the deal in the next couple of weeks. Gilmore is a valuable player and Bill Belichick would love to keep him around under a reasonable deal.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that the Patriots and Gilmore talk more about this situation in the next few weeks. Gilmore may not be traded in the upcoming period. The Patriots have added him to the winning formula and he will probably join the team in 2020.

At least one source said that the Patriots wouldn’t go into Week 4 without their top cornerback. This makes sense. It takes a lot of time for the Patriots to finish the deal but they are on a good way to make the best thing for both sides.
