Carmelo Anthony Ex-Coach Takes Savage Take After ‘Championship’ Comments

The Los Angeles Lakers brought a lot of new players in the offseason. Things changed a lot and the new-look Lakers have been making headlines for a really long time. Rob Pelinka added several veterans to the roster to give LeBron James and Anthony Davis enough weapons on the floor. Carmelo Anthony is one of the players who signed with the purple and gold, and he wants to win a championship.

Yes, great Melo has yet to win a championship in his career. He has been part of the NBA for two decades but his teams couldn’t really make the big game. The veteran even had a one-year break. The Portland Trail Blazers decided to give him a chance and he inked a two-year deal. Melo is out now and he joined LeBron James in LA. NBA analysts are looking forward to their first game.

Melo was a bit frustrated. He needed that ring so bad.  LA will give him a chance to become a champion.

“Every year we all come into the season saying, ‘OK, we want to win a championship,’” Anthony said in his introductory press conference with the Lakers. “How hard it is to get there and to achieve that? That’s on a whole ‘nother level. That’s extremely hard, to accomplish that. I’m coming in with a championship on my mind. I think we all know that this is the one thing that I’m missing. This is the one thing that keeps me up at night. It motivates me because I don’t have it. I want that experience.”

Carmelo Anthony to win a championship with the Lakers

These comments attracted the attention of Melo’s former coach, George Karl. The former Denver Nuggets coach made some shocking comments about the veteran. Lakers fans won’t be happy about this.

I guess Karl wanted to mess with Melo. The veteran had his best playoff run in the 2009 season. Karl was coaching the Nuggets back then. Melo’s duel against Kobe Bryant is definitely his brightest playoff moment in his career.

Now he has a chance to make the playoffs as a Laker. Coincidence? It’s show time, everyone!
