HC Bill Belichick Liked This Idea To ‘Stick It’ To Kraft

Head coach Bill Belichick parted ways with Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots after over two decades. He helped the team win six titles, but things didn’t look well in the last few seasons. Belichick is the best coach in league history, but he didn’t land a job after leaving the Patriots. Was he even looking for a coaching job in the NFL?

Pretty much everyone talked about the way Belichick and Kraft parted ways. It was an “amicable” decision. According to recent reports, Kraft destroyed Belichick’s chance to join the Atlanta Falcons as their new head coach.

Belichick talked to the Falcons about their head coach vacancy. Many believes that he was close to getting the job. Why made the Falcons believe that the GOAT among all coaches wasn’t their best option?

The tension between Belichick and Kraft

Don Van Natta Jr. from ESPN reported that Kraft criticized Belichick’s character in a private convo with Arthur Blank. Belichick, on the other hand, parted ways with the Kraft family and started looking for a new job.

“On paper, the Cowboys seemed to make sense: Belichick and Jerry Jones are decades-long friends, and both are in win-now mode,” Van Natta Jr. wrote in a column published Tuesday. “Nobody is better than Belichick at converting a talented roster into a championship team. And Belichick told a friend that he liked the idea of sticking it to the Krafts by working for Jones. But Jones, for all his flash, bluster and vows this offseason to go ‘all-in,’ is change-averse when it comes to head coaches. He decided quickly after Dallas’ blowout exit in the wild-card round to let Mike McCarthy coach the final year of his contract.”

Belichick won’t have trouble finding a new job. He doesn’t even have to look for a job. He has done his share and may not take his time to rest and relax.
