NFL Insider Gives Latest Update On Patriots WR N’Keal Harry

NFL fans are still waiting for an update on wide receiver N’Keal Harry. Well, I guess there’s one big update on the first-rounder.

Harry left Thursday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a shoulder injury. It wasn’t a severe injury, but some say Harry’s future is hanging in the air now. He struggled to perform in his two seasons with the Patriots and and this is not the only obstacle he had. Injuries and poor health affected his performance in New England. His health issues may also affect his future with the Patriots. His most recent injury is the last thing Harry needed on the field.

We can’t ignore his trade request. Harry wanted a fresh start and his agent made a trade request. Publicly. The trade didn’t happen and Harry seems to embrace his role with the team. What about this injury?

A big update on N’Keal Harry

Patriots could have traded Harry at some point in August. He was healthy and did well in training camp. However, this injury changed their plans. They can’t trade him now.

On Saturday, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport made some comments on Harry’s situation with the team. He also discussed their next move. What about the timetable?

According to this update, Harry will miss at least four weeks. He won’t join the team in the first few weeks of the regular season. Harry won’t be healthy so the Patriots can’t get rid of him.

“He’s expected to be out about four weeks, so he’s probably not going to be on the field to start the season for the New England Patriots, and that’s significant.” Rapoport said. “N’Keal Harry requested a trade. Usually, you trade guys right before the season right around roster cut day. That’s probably not going to happen here because he’s not going to be healthy.”

In his first two years as a Patriot, Harry stacked 45 receptions for 414 yards and four touchdowns. Unfortunately, he didn’t meet expectations. Patriots coaches wanted to see more from him.

Harry may need a change of scenery at this point. NFL teams may be interested in getting him as he will earn just $1.4 million in 2021. Harry will also earn $1.8 million in 2022.
