Patriots WR Gives Honest Admission On Playing With Tom Brady

The New England Patriots lost Tom Brady last offseason. The six-time Super Bowl champion signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

What happened next? TB12 won a Super Bowl in his first season with the Bucs. It was a great accomplishment for the greatest quarterback of all time. Some people used the opportunity to say that Brady was the one who created the Patriots dynasty. Head coach Bill Belichick and his team finished the 2020 NFL season with a 7-9 record. This only added fuel to the fire.

Well, Brady will get to challenge his former head coach in Week 4 of the 2021 NFL season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will arrive at Gillette Stadium with one goal. Win the night.

Current and former Patriots players talked about Brady’s return to Foxboro. Patriots wide receiver Jakobi Meyers had great memories with Brady.

Meyers went undrafted in 2019. He had 26 catches for 359 yards in 2019 and working with Brady was… Interesting. Unfortunately, he didn’t get much chance to play with Brady.

In the 2019 regular season, Meyers made a big mistake in the match against the Houston Texans. Yes, he did accept accountability and fixed his game.

Patriots veteran learned a lot from Tom Brady

In his interview with NBC Sports’ Tom E. Curran, Meyers shared some details of this “mistake”. He found a way to learn from his mistakes. He didn’t want to let his quarterback down.

“I had to learn fast,” Meyers said, via NBC Sports. “I didn’t really have an excuse. That was a guy who’d been playing for two decades, you know what I mean? I didn’t get the liberty of, ‘Oh, he’ll catch on one day.’ I came in with a first-round receiver, N’Keal. Tom Brady, future Hall of Famer. I had to pick it up real fast or I wouldn’t be here long. It definitely pushed the tempo and I’m happy it worked out the way it did.”

Meyers looked really great in 2020. He had 59 passes for 729 yards. Not bad, right?

In Week 4, Meyers will show TB12 what he learned from him.
