Chase Winovich Delivers Simple Message to Patriots Fans After Move To IR

The New England Patriots will be without Chase Winovich after placing him on IR. The Patriots linebacker left the game against the Dallas Cowboys in the second half. According to initial reports, Winovich is dealing with a hamstring injury. The 26-year-old sustained his injury following a punt in the third quarter of the game. He limbed off the field and the medical staff examined him.

The linebacker made his way to the locker room and the team said he was questionable to return. Wino was downgraded to doubtful and the team ruled him out for the rest of the game. Wino didn’t return to the field.

On Tuesday, the Patriots confirmed that Winovich won’t join the team in the next three games. Well, he may miss even more time due to this injury. The NFL’s transaction wire confirmed that Wino will stay on injured reserve at least three weeks before returning to the field. The NFL has special rules about this.

Chase Wino to return from IR

The linebacker took to his Instagram account to deliver a message to his fans and doubters.

I will be back. I will persevere,” Winovich wrote. “Thank you Pats Nation.”

Wino missed a huge portion of the offseason but head coach Bill Belichick kept him on his list of strong defenders. When healthy, Winovich provides a non-stop motion to the edge rush/outside linebacker unit. New England embraced his new role and Winovich was ready for the challenge. He will have to be healthy though.

The talented linebacker entered training camp on the physically unable to perform list.

The talented linebacker entered training camp on the physically unable to perform list. We don’t have much information about his health condition. The Patriots reactivated him on August 15 and he tried really hard to get back into playing shape. He worked on his consistency and the run plays in the middle. NFL analysts hoped to see Wino take snaps as an off-the-ball defender and maybe even a package-specific pass rusher.

Let’s see how will things go for the linebacker. He has a lot to offer, and the team needs him on the field.
