Chris Mason from MassLive.com was among the first to confirm that Collins has returned from injured reserve. Kyle Dugger didn’t join this teammates for practice. He has a key role for the team and Bill Belichick relied on his performance in the regular season. Let’s not forget that Dugger leads the Patriots with 80 tackles.

Collins ended up on injured reserve following the Patriots’ Week 9 win over the Carolina Panthers. His 21-day roster activation window was opened and Collins was spotted on the team’s practice fields.

The veteran is on his third stint with the Patriots. The Detroit Lions released him and he didn’t waste any time. Collins has taken 59 defensive snaps for the team in five regular-season games, he is trying to get the best of his talent on the field. Since his arrival in Foxboro, the veteran linebacker has six solo tackles, two quarterback hits, one sack, and one interception.

His best performance in this stint happened against the Panthers. Collins took 16 snaps but earned two tackles, a pass-defended, and one interception.

Belichick made a really good move and he has nothing but words of praise for Collins. The same goes to his Patriots teammates.

The Patriots will follow Collins’ progress to determine whether he will join the 53-man roster. If not activated within this timeframe, Collins will finish the regular season on injured reserve.
