Bill Belichick Gives Major Update On Jamie Collins

Bill Belichick has given us a major update on Jamie Collins. The Patriots are looking like one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now. They have been very impressive for the last month and a half and it all starts with Mac Jones and the offense. There were many questions surrounding Mac and if he would be able to lead this offense to a level that it needs to be. But he has been better than expected.

They also had a missing piece for the last several weeks. Linebacker Jamie Collins has been out with an ankle injury since week 9. He now sounds a bit healthier and Bill Belichick talked about it during his press conference. They are obviously very excited to have him back.

“Yeah, we’ll see how it goes,” Belichick said. “He wasn’t eligible (last week), so, we’ll see where we are this week. But he’s working very hard. He does everything he can every day and I’m sure he’ll be out there as soon as he can.”

Once he is back to practice, the Patriots will have 3 weeks to add him to the roster. He has been with the Patriots since October after being released from the Detroit Lions. He has an interception and seven tackles on the year.

Belichick also talked about Josh McDaniels and what he has shown as the leader of the offense.

“Yeah, look, Josh does a great job on that, I’ve said that multiple times,” Belichick said. “Josh does a fantastic job of game planning, game-calling and in-game adjustments. I think, when you coach a team or when you coach a player, you don’t just sit there and think about, ‘Is he a rookie? And is he a second-year player? Is he a seventh-year player? Is he a ninth-year player?’ You just coach them to try and help them get better. And, you know, that’s a sliding scale. I understand that, that coaching a rookie’s not the same as coaching a 10-year veteran.”
